Z-MARC DMX Powder
Z-MARC DMX Powder is a unique version of ZYP Coatings’ Machinable Advanced Refractory Ceramic. Z-MARC DMX is a dry mixture of very stable ceramic ingredients (including Boron Nitride [BN], Calcium Aluminate, and Barium Sulfate). When mixed with water, Z-MARC DMX can be cast into silicone ‘puck’ molds, dried, and fired to 975 C to yield a refractory, corrosion-resistant and machinable ceramic material. The fired part is around 70-80% dense and can be machined with conventional carbide-tipped machining tools to complex shapes as desired for a wide range of industrial areas-of-use.
Price range: $40.00 through $140.00
Key Attributes
- Utilizes very stable/inert ceramic phases
- The dry powder mixture is easily prepared to a slurry by merely adding water and stirring
- Slurry is easily cast into silicone molds and dried and fired to form ‘pucks’
- Pucks after initial firing are
- Readily machinable with conventional machine tools
- Usable in all atmospheres (air, vacuum, inert) to around 1000 C
- Electrically insulating with low thermal conductivity
- Chemically resistant
- Contain no Refractory Ceramic Fiber (RCF)
- Typically around 75% dense
Ideal Uses
- Casting your own specialty ceramic shapes that, after firing, can be machined to complex ceramic components
- Making small specialty one-of-a-kind pieces
