BN-TPC
Description

BN TPC was specially formulated for coating transition plates used with Wagstaff Billet Casters. The BN TPC is a water-based, near-neutral-pH coating that is pre-diluted to the proper level for applying onto transition plates. BN TPC is color-tinted pink (non-permanent) for visibility while first coating.

BN Lubricoat Paste
Description

BN Lubricoat Paste is the same “workhorse” formulation of our BN-Lubricoat but available in paste consistency. Thus, this version can be applied in thick layers or diluted with water to make a paint usable for all liquid metal transfer components to yield excellent nonwetting/release with aluminum, magnesium, zinc and other nonferrous metals and alloys. BN Lubricoat ZA Paste
Description

BN Lubricoat ZA Paste has been developed as a high-viscosity, highly-BN-loaded water-based paste that can be applied as-is or (most often) can be diluted to coat all substrates that are compatible with pH-Acidic (like lemon juice) conditions. The “ZA” paste is usable to 1000 C in air and generally forms a tough, relatively abrasion-resistant, well-bonded surface.

BN Releasecoat PM
Description

BN Releasecoat-PM is a concentrated paint that is fully-loaded with Boron Nitride.  PM provides a thick, dilutable paint in a paste-like consistency, which can be modified by simply adding water.  Given this concentrated form, PM saves on shipping costs. Typical dilution is 2 parts water to 1 part concentrate. When diluted PM is a relatively-soft, washcoat-type of coating.

BN Releasecoat-PM provides excellent nonwetting and release with aluminum, magnesium, zinc and other nonferrous metals and alloys.

ZBN Release
Description

ZBN Release contains Zirconium Oxide (ZrO2) for thermal insulation along with Boron Nitride (BN) for best mold release with permanent mold or low pressure casting. With ZBN Release, only one single coating provides all you need.

BNW Paste
Description

BNW is a near-neutral-pH paste or concentrate that can be applied in thick layers or diluted with water to yield relatively-soft, washcoat-type of coating or a releasecoating. This paste has a lower BN content which still provides excellent nonwetting and release with aluminum, magnesium, zinc and other nonferrous metals and alloys. Paste has no outgassing other than water when heated.

  • Can be applied by troweling as well as brushing … or diluted to use for air-spraying or dipping
  • Use “as-is” as a trowelable paste or dilute with water at a 2:1 water-to-paste or even greater level to make a great BN releasecoating

Description

BNA Paste is a non-aqueous-based or solvent-based paste that is usable in all atmospheres and can be applied in thick layers or brushed like house paint  It yields excellent nonwetting and release with aluminum, magnesium, zinc and other nonferrous metals and alloys.

White Silk
Description

White Silk Boron Nitride is an aerosol spray can that is ideal for applying a thin BN layer to act as a protective barrier layer to prevent diamond-matrix or metal-bond-powder from sticking to or reacting with graphite molds/plungers/punches at temperatures to >1100 C (>2012 F). For other uses, White Silk is great for spraying thin BN layers for most any purpose.

SEG Aerosol Brushable
Description

ZYP Coating’s “SEG Aerosol Brushable” is the same formulation that is used in our SEG (Super Enhanced Graphite) Aerosol spray-can … but is in BULK (paint) form, sold by the gallon.   The SEG Aerosol Brushable can be applied by brushing, traditional air-spraying means, or dipping. Usable in any environment from room temperature to over 900 C (1652 F).  The paint provides excellent “dry-film” lubrication.  SEG Aerosol Brushable can be diluted with Acetone for somewhat faster drying or with Ethyl Alcohol for somewhat slower drying.

JK SD
Description

JK SD is a specially formulated solvent-based, very-low-viscosity BN coating to allow dipping onto “blanks” to yield very thin layers that can accommodate the extreme stretching of superplastic forming operations. The uniform-sized BN particles give good adhesion and lubrication over the superplastic-forming and quick-plastic-forming (SPF/QPF) cycle. The consistency of JK SD allows its use for applying thin layers by air-spray as well as dipping.

BN Cera Patch
Description

BN Cera Patch provides a ready-to-use, water-based ceramic putty patching material that can be filled into any fissure, crack or defect in refractory materials to achieve nonwetting with molten aluminum. This premium repair product is based on Boron Nitride and is completely free of Refractory Ceramic Fiber (RCF).  BN Cera Patch is engineered to expand to fill damaged areas and does not sinter, shrink or crack with use.   Adheres well to all refractory surfaces, dense or porous.   Applicable for all environments to 800 C (1472 F) for continuous use, and to 1000 C (1832 F) for intermittent use.  Ready-to-use after applying with putty knife or trowel followed by drying.  No special cure is needed.

Dental Cast Release
Description

Dental Cast Release provides a water-based paint that can be used to apply a thin Boron Nitride (BN) layer onto typical ceramic crucibles or molds — such as special ceramics good to 1550 °C or inserts of graphite or glassy carbon, as well as fused silica/quartz crucibles. The crucibles are generally used for vacuum melting and casting of specialty alloys such as “high fusing gold” alloys, cobalt-chrome, nickel-chrome, and other non-precious metal alloys for crowns or bridges. This new easy-to-use finger-pump sprayer allows application of BN paint onto most any surface, substrate, crucible, or mold.

BN TAPA Screen Printing Paste
Description

A ready-to-use water-based, totally inorganic, pH-Acidic (like lemon juice) white paste that
is designed to produce a tough, flexible, abrasion-resistant and water-resistant coating of Boron Nitride on all substrates – cloths, metals, ceramics and graphite. BN TAPA is particularly designed for applying to cotton, cotton-polyester or ceramic fabrics or cloths.

BN TAPA can be applied by trowel, spatula, putty knife, squeegee or paint brush. Cure the applied coating at approximately 130 C if water insolubility is desired. The coating itself is usable to over 1652 F (over 900 C). Thinner coatings give the best results.
