Glass Products

Our main glass product is BN Aerosol Lubricoat. It is the best in the industry. Also available are non-aerosol products sold as BN Glass Release, BN Glass Release Brushable and Glass Release Thinner.

BN Aerosol Lubricoat
Description

BN Aerosol Lubricoat® is a convenient aerosol-can for applying thin, uniform, quick-drying layers of Boron Nitride (BN) onto most any substrate. It is especially good for glass slumping. The aerosol-can allows the creation of a dry-film-lubricant and provides the great properties of BN that is easy-to-use with low electrical conduction, high thermal conduction, prevents reactions between materials, and has superior release.

BN Glass Release Spray
Description

Boron Nitride Glass Release Spray provides a water-based  BN paint as an alternative to our flammable solvent-based aerosol BN Aerosol Lubricoat (sometimes referred to as just “ZYP” or “ZYP Mold Release Spray”).  This water-based paint will take longer to dry than solvent-based paint.  Glass Release is a non-hazardous product, thus allowing much lower shipping/handling costs.  Just like our aerosol, this new easy-to-use trigger sprayer allows application of BN paint onto most any non-glazed (i.e., bisque) surface, substrate or mold. BN Glass Release Brushable
Description

Boron Nitride Glass Release Brushable is an easily applied Boron Nitride coating that is designed for ceramic molds used for glass slumping.  This water-based “bulk” paint is non-hazardous which allows for much lower shipping and handling costs as compared to the solvent-based aerosol or bulk solvent-based paint.

Key Attributes
  • Ready-to-Use, Brushable Bulk BN Releasecoating
  • Water-based, Non-Flammable, Non-Hazardous
  • Anti-Stick/Easy Release
Ideal Use
  • All Glass Slumping and Forming using Bisque Molds

Glass Release Thinner
Description

Glass Release Thinner utilizes the same water-based suspension binder liquids as used with Glass Release Brushable. If you desire to dilute the Glass Release Brushable for getting thinner dried coatings or for improved brushing, it is best to use this special Glass Release Thinner than to just thin with water, since the Thinner will allow better bond-down to the substrate after thinning. The thinner is nonhazardous and has a long shelf life.

Contains No Boron Nitride

Key Attributes
  • Enables diluted BN Glass Release Brushable to stay in suspension and bond down well
  • Good in all atmospheres
  • Minimal outgassing (H2O, COx)—mostly complete by 150 C
  • Safe, easy-to-use, water-based
  • Near-neutral pH
Ideal Use
  • Binder/Suspender for thinning BN Glass Release Brushable
  • Can be used as Binder/Suspender for most any ceramic/refractory powder

BN Aerosol Lubricoat Brushable
Description

ZYP Coating’s “BN Aerosol Brushable” is the same formulation that is used in our BN Aerosol spray can … but is in BULK paint form, sold by the gallon.  The BN Aerosol Brushable can be applied by brushing, traditional air-spraying means, or dipping. Usable in any environment from room temperature to over 1000 C (1832 F).   BN Aerosol Brushable can be diluted with Acetone for somewhat faster drying or with Ethyl Alcohol for somewhat slower drying.

Key Attributes
  • Fast Drying, Solvent Based
  • Easy-to use
  • Dilutable with Acetone and/or Ethanol
  • Apply like housepaints
Ideal Uses
  • Reducing Friction
  • Providing Release
  • Barrier Layer
  • Anti-Stick with Molten Al, Mg, & Zn
