What are "flexible substrates"? What is meant by that term here is ceramic-fiber textiles -- cloths, papers, and woven-fiber fabrics mainly [ex. Nextel® cloths]. Note that only a few BN coatings are listed here: these have been shown to be good candidate coatings for all types of flexible substrates.

The coatings given here are for flexible ceramic substrates. For flexible/thin metal substrates, these coatings are still 'candidates'. Another good possibility is LK Ink; and, when blended with HPC Binder, its utility is extended to well over 1000 C in air [for instance, with Rare-Earth phosphors with a 50:50 blend of LK and HPC binders, the utility was up to 1400 C].

BN Aerosol Brushable
BN-AEROSOL-BRUSHABLE is offered as the same formulation that is
used in our aerosol can but in BULK (paint) form, sold by the
gallon. As with the aerosol can, the boron nitride coating that
results is often ideal where water-based coatings are not
desired.

BORON NITRIDE RELEASECOAT®-PM provides TEFLON®-LlKE release for low draft-high drag regions of permanent moulds. The RELEASECOAT®-PM is provided as a paste concentrate to reduce shipping costs. To use, dilute 2 parts water to 1 part paint by volume. Simply air-spray a thin layer of paint in the areas needing extra release over your regularly used mould coating (which provides the necessary insulating properties). Reapply as needed. sprayed onto hot or cold moulds.
