TPC-LL was initially developed for a “Transition Plate Coating” for use with aluminum billet producers’ Wagstaff casters. However, the TPC-LL has been shown to be a generally-applicable brushable, Boron-Nitride-containing coating whenever a release-coating is desired to not be water-based and/or to not be solvent-based (i.e., with flammable solvents). One example of its use is for ingot-mold coating. The TPC-LL is a relatively-thin appearing coating that has significant Boron Nitride content to allow a nonwetting layer to be readily formed on warm-to-hot (80 to 150 C, for example) ceramic or metal surfaces. If a thinner coating is desired, such as for air-spraying, thinning can be done with acetone, methylethylketone (MEK), mineral spirits, or ethyl alcohol.
The TPC-LL is manufactured on special order only and thus is not 'on the shelf' available. Contact ZYP Coatings for pricing/availability.
