ZYP Coatings, Inc. pioneered the area paintable refractory/ceramic coatings. They were designed to act like housepaints, being safe and easy-to-use and applied like housepaints but being able to withstand very high-temperatures in any use-environment (air, inert, vacuum, reducing).

“what is stable with what” and “what isn’t”. This also can give you some suggestion of the best “material” to have for a paintable refractory/ceramic coating for your area-of-use. Note that several materials given are not presently offered as ‘routinely available’ coatings from ZYP Coatings: those, however, can readily be prepared by the user … as indicated here:
