ZYP Coatings was initiated making Zirconia-Yttria-Paintable Coatings. Very soon, however, the uniqueness and performance of BORON NITRIDE coatings led to our main emphasis on BN -- and our statement
THE MIRACLE OF BORON NITRIDE
[which is explained along with our main-BN-Coating product line and BN coating selection in the above link] along with our becoming the “World Leader in Boron Nitride Coatings”. Thus, if you are unsure as to what to try to help out in a high-temperature application involving reducing contact-reactions and allowing nonsticking/nonwetting with melting, sintering, or most any other area, Boron Nitride coatings are the place to start.
ZIRCONIUM OXIDE coatings are the most-economical, ultra-high-temperature-use coatings for most any area-of-use … but they are not quite as thermodynamically-stable as YTTRIUM OXIDE coatings. And, both of these refractory materials are somewhat wetted by molten metals – thus not as dramatic performers as BN coatings.

IV. Others ... ZYP Coatings, inc. has specialized coatings for:
• GRAPHITE
Coverguard to stop graphite oxidation
Type SC or Type SC-1400 for R&D to stop graphite oxidation.
See Substrates-Graphite for other coatings.
• METALS
Sealmet to stop metal oxidation/corrosion.
See Substraes-Metals for other coatings.
•CERAMICS ...
Z-Guard or Zircwash to provide a refractory zirconium oxide surface.
Type ZO-Mod or Type ZO for R&D to provide a refractory stabilized zirconium oxide surface.
See Substrates-Ceramics, Substrates-Flexible, or Substrates-Fibrous for other coatings.
For a lot of applications, trying the aerosol-can versions of our coatings can be a quick-and-easy way to see if paintable refractory/ceramic coatings are ‘in the ballpark’ for solving your problems. Then, if needed, one can scaleup with their ‘bulk’ paint versions labeled “Aer-Brushable”or move to the water-based coatings which are typically more ecomonical for regular use and are not shipped as “Haz” like the solvent-based coatings.
Our FAQ [Frequently Asked Questions] is a good ‘read’ for becoming familiar with Paintable Refractory Coatings.
FINALLY … All of the PRODUCTS are displayed when you click the "All Products"
button on the left-hand side of the MAIN webpage. And, the always-appearing left side-bar listing has selected areas of interest there --
DIE CASTING
HEAT TREATING
EXTRUSION
GALVANIZING
GLASS
R&D [Coatings of interest for Research-&-Development areas]
along with other pretty-specific ‘interests’ like
BLACKBODY or HIGH EMISSIVITY coatings
CODING/MARKING
BRAZING
SINTERING HARD METALS
SUPERPLASTIC FORMING
as well as listings of the individual major constituency of our paints,
in case you want to just go there first … such as
ALUMINUM OXIDE
BN COATINGS
GRAPHITE COATING
ZIRCONIUM OXIDE
YTTRIUM OXIDE
After looking at the coatings, be sure to check out
Paint Application Guide
Air Spraying Tips
since these are helpful with whichever coating is selected. And, also, remember that we have water-based as well as solvent-based coatings to suit most any high-temperature application.
It may take awhile to navigate all this information and learn about paintable refractory/ceramic coatings. But… “Drill down” and have fun.
