BN MOD
ZYP Coating's BN MOD is an extremely versatile, general-use water-based (non-flammable) Boron Nitride coating that is often used in R&D areas. This is an alumina-bonded, water-based coating that yields 85% BN upon drying. The dried coating can be hand-polished to form an ultra-smooth surface. May be applied to metals, ceramics or graphite by brush or pressurized-air-spray systems just like ordinary house paint. BN MOD is usable in all atmospheres ... air as well as inert or vacuum up to the normal temperature limits of boron nitride - air, 1000-1100 C; vacuum, 1400 C; inert, 1800 C [limited due to sublimation, although higher temperatures have been attained]. Outgassing is complete by approximately 550 C: water and some NOx are the only volatiles, slowly evolving from 100 to 550 C.
